Shakepeare and Company’s Paris Literary Prize

Concubine&books, originally uploaded by MusicPeppe.

Shakespeare and Company, a bookstore opened by American George Whitman in 1951, is holding their first Paris Literary Prize for a novella. See the rules and details here. There is also a video made by Mr. Whitman’s daughter about the prize. View the video here.

The deadline has been extended to 18 December, 2010.  This deadline is for the first 3000 words, but the finished novella’s length must be 20,000 to 30,000 words long. Those making the final cut will be notified in February. If you decide to enter, good luck!
